Introduce yourself through a hand coded web-page
Get Acquainted with the Course and Instructor; Introduce yourself by creating a hand coded web-page and publishing it to the web, you will need to post a link to your web-page to the discussion section of the course (create a post with your link under the Project 1: Introduce yourself website post as well as submit a zipped folder of this page to the assignment section of the course.
Create a 1 page web-page and post it to the internet. this web-page should contain at least 1 image and at least 3 paragraphs and 1 bulleted list. The topic of the web-page is to introduce yourself to me. Let me know why you are taking this course, what you hope to get out of it; also mention any experience you have with Web-page design/development or any other web creation tools, programming languages, digital imagining, print, drawing programs or graphic creation. include a picture of yourself on the web-page as well. Also tell me what you enjoy doing in your free time.
Not only should this web-page tell me a little about who you are and what you like to do but it should also demonstrate your knowledge of web-page creation. Your web-page should be semantically correct HTML (use a validator to check your code), it should separate the design from the structure (use CSS efficiently to do this) and it should utilize CSS to add formatting, layout and design to the page.
Use this opportunity to show me what you can create via hand coding. This exercise will not only let me 'meet you' but will give me a sense of your skill level and proficiency in hand coding.
Here are the main things I will be looking at in your web-page:
- Semantically correct HTML (run your page through an HTML validator to catch any errors)
- Properly coded CSS (run your CSS through a validator to catch any errors)
- Inclusion of at least 1 image
- Inclusion of 3 paragraphs and 1 list
- Proper use of headings where appropriate
- Use of CSS to style the page
- Topic is what is requested above
- Page is accessible via the web*
- Link to your page is posted on discussion board post for this assignment
- Zipped web-page folder with all accompanying files submitted through Blackboard assignment section
